VICE CHAIRWOMAN JOYCE CARNALL

My name is Joyce Carnall. My husband of almost 50 years recently passed away due to cancer. I need not say what a life changing event this has been. I have two grown children, a son and a daughter. Our daughter is the mother of our 3 grandchildren, and one of my granddaughter’s is the mother of my almost 3 year old great granddaughter.
I worked at a local supermarket upon graduating from high school. Because of that job, I now draw a small pension from the United Food and Commercial Union retirement plan. I left that job after 18 years to attend Neumann University in Aston, Pa., where I earned a BA Degree in Liberal Arts and completed a Masters’ Degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, in Pastoral Counselling. With that degree, I took a job as Bereavement Coordinator for Taylor Hospice in Ridley Park; doing post graduate studies in grief issues. I became a Nationally Board Certified Grief Therapist and Educator of Death, Dying and Bereavement.
I retired from that job after 19 years and moved to Snyder County in 2010 to start Pallas Hill Alpaca Farm. Due to my husband’s illness, we needed to close the farm. I continue to reside on the property.
I immediately fell in love with Snyder County, but I began to wonder if I was the only Democrat in Central, Pa. As soon as I discovered The Snyder County Democratic Committee, I began to get involved in the grassroots politics for the area and I now serve as a Poll worker for my township.
I have always had a heart for helping others and helping to make a difference in my community. It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Vice Chair of the Snyder County Democratic Committee.
